Hello,
I wanted to take a moment and let everyone know what has been going on here at dontburnthepig.org. First off, I want to thank everyone who has been a part of dbtp.org since day 1 and to all of you who visit the site and have joined us here on the forums. dontburnthepig.org exists because of our passion for the Dave Matthews Band, which we want to share with you... DBTP has come a very long way since the birth of the website in September of 2006. We have worked hard to provide DMB fans various DMB resources and we plan to expand on the features and content of the site and the forums. Donations to dontburnthepig.org dontburnthepig.org has added a donation link to the forums and the main site and we would like to ask you to consider making a small donation toward the maintenance and future upgrades for our site. Where is my donation going? Currently, costs to run dbtp.org exceeded $1500.00 last year and this number will likely exceed. This includes: Monthly web hosting fees for 2 servers. $34 / month Yearly fee for 2 domains. $40 / year Yearly vbulletin license fees $30 / yearly renewal fees Monthly fees to email our bi-weekly newsletter. $30 / month Yearly fees to 3rd party hosting services used on dbtp.org. i.e.: sendspace, photobucket. $100 / $25 / year Misc items: promotions / contests...ECT… Your dontations will be going towards ONLY the costs to run and maintain the site. How do I make a Donation? Click Here to Donate. Paypal donations can be sent by clicking the "donate" button at the top of the navigation toolbar on the forum. You can also find a button on the left hand column of the main website under the navigational links.Paypal is a secure and easy way to send money, but if would like to make a donation and prefer not to use paypal and would like to use another from of payment, email Chris for information on how to do so. How Much Should I Give? This is entirely up to you. We appreciate any donations that are received, no matter what the denomination is. Every penny helps and the more money we receive the more we will be able to do for the site. Do I have to make a Donation? No. There is no obligation to make a donation. Please don't feel like you have to donate to contribute to our community. Donations will ensure that dbtp.org can stay running for the next year. Any help given is much appreciated. What are dbtp.org future goals? One of our biggest goals is to get dontburnthepig.org on a dedicated server. As mentioned before, we are currently running on 2 shared servers. Some new features and updates that we are looking to implement on the site will require more space and bandwidth. While this is working for us now, as the site continues to grow and more people visit and use the site, with possible added features, we will need more bandwidth to support it. Overall we want to keep the website running fast and smooth with limited downtime. Getting on a dedicated server will help in achieving this. In Addition, we will continue to provide you with up-to-date DMB news and articles and will be working to improve the content and overall layout and structure of the website. For example, the pictures portion of our site is a bit of a mess right now. We will be working to improve that part of the website, and plan to add even more pictures!! We will continue to send our bi-weekly newsletters. We will also continue our monthly contests...and we have some good ones this year! Thank you all for taking the time to read this and for your consideration to donate to dontburnthepig.org. Cheers, Chris ![]() |
