Default Stefan Lessard on Sirius Jam On 17 - Nov, 20th @ 5pm EST

AStefan Lessard of the Dave Matthews Band

Tomorrow 5:00 pm ET

Ever since joining The Dave Matthews Band at the age of sixteen, bassist Stefan Lessard has kept busy both on and off the road. Between touring, traveling and environmental activism, he found a few minutes to come and join his friend Stef Scamardo and play some tunes from the new live Dave Matthews Band release! Also, you’ll find out the deal with all the number songs – like #41, #34 – what’s up with that?!

Rebroadcast Nov. 21 @ 9 pm ET & Nov. 22 @ 12 pm ET.

Sirius Jam On

Here is the audio from the interview

OOOHHHH Thanks Nicole!! I had kinda ignored this since I don't have Sirius. I didn't know there was a free trial. Great to know! I'll give it a shot! Thanks! I can listen while I pack for the Thanksgiving trip!

The interview was about 30 minutes with a few songs in between. I will write a more in depth review of the interview and add it to the dbtp article on the homepage.

Some notable items.

DMB is contributing 6 songs for an upcoming documentary called "Grand Canyon Adventure" Stefan Lessard along with Steve Wood will be composing the original score for the movie as well.

Plans to start recording again will resume in the Spring of 2008. And there is currently no producer named at this time.

#27 got it's name from the current order of new songs they were working during the previous studio sessions.

Stefan will be in some kind of Snowboarding movie, sometime next year.. I didn't catch all the details on that, but he will be filming that in January.

There were some other items discussed, but those were your major highlights.
If you don't get to hear it, I should have a recording of the interview available soon.

Chris

Oh..PS.. From Stefan: A summer tour for 2008 is pretty much guaranteed

So I just wanted to add a few more thing about some of the discussion in this interview.

In reference to the IMAX movie. Stefan did not say what 6 songs would be given to the movie. (Just to be clear, he did not say they would be new songs, just 6 dmb songs) However, he (Stefan only) will be working on original material for the score of the movie.

Stefan stated that they # all the songs that they are working on in the studio, #27 was the 27th song that they were working on at the time, so like many other songs have in the past, it just took that name.. (I am curious to see if they actually record the song if they will keep the # or actually name the song.)

One last thing. Stef ask Stefan about the Live Trax and how they are selected. He did not give a whole lot of insight here, but Stefan did say they don't plan to make a show a live trax before a show is played.

This was in reference to Stef's question about why Vegas was released only months after the actual show. Stefan's reply was that they just thought they were on those nights and the energy was high, so they thought it would make a good live trax.

(this is not an exact quote, but it is a paraphrase of what he said)
