It was also a point Boyd Tinsley, the well-known Dave Matthews Band violinist, wanted to make as the events headline speaker. Students chose Tinsley to speak because hes a Charlottesville native who continues to make a difference in the community through philanthropic work.
His advice for students waning hours at UVa?
Eat, drink and be merry, he said, invoking a famous line quoted in a Dave Matthews Band song. Because you know next week youll have to get a job.
