American Express today announced the launch of its latest television spot showcasing the power, feeling and value of membership as told through a collection of high-profile Cardmember stories. Singer-songwriter and musician Dave Matthews, actress Gwyneth Paltrow, film and television producer Brian Grazer and entertainer Tina Turner share personal stories about transitional moments in their lives and how their relationship with American Express played a meaningful role during those times.

Pretty Cool. It's definitly a different terriroty for Dave, a little questionable... perhaps. Dave in an American Express commercial? Usually those spots are reserved for the likes of low grade actors/celebrities. But there is one thing I can say..... At least he did it in a way that was still Dave-esque. Before they even show Dave's face, you see the fans in the crowd. "People that believe in him". To me it emphasized how much we, the fans, were an important part of this success, ... along with American Express of course. lol. Overall I enjoyed it, I don't think any harm was done. If he gains a few fans from it, or interest from a person that *is on another planet * ah em,.. has never heard DMB, then good for him. Go get em Dave.

Maybe it's just me, but I hope his fee for that commercial was donated to charity.
